Meet Roxanne

Roxanne MacKay, B.Ed, MACP
Canadian Certified Counsellor

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing or growth. Together, we will find the approach that best suits you and collaborate on strategies for forward movement.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for you to share and explore your situation, struggles and concerns. You are invited to speak your mind and heart and bring your whole self to our sessions. Together we will muddle through the hard bits and celebrate all of your strength, growth, and resilience along the way.

I use current best practices and am continually expanding my knowledge. In addition to holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I am also a:

  • Certified teacher with 15 years classroom experience
  • Certified trauma practitioner for education
  • Certified restorative justice facilitator
  • Certified narrative therapist
  • Certified couple’s therapist (Gottman Method, Level 2)
  • Trained facilitator for Love & Logic
  • Trained in attachment theory, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), strengths-based counselling (SBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic and humanistic approaches.

I am also Métis, a mother, and a long-time potter developing a “clay-as-therapy” program (coming soon!).

In our work together, you can expect to experience meaningful personal insights, learn to manage emotions and behaviours better, process hard feelings or circumstances, improve relationships and communication, and feel more empowered to make necessary decisions or changes in your life… all in your own time and in your own way.
